Maxime Bernier

Maxime Bernier is the leader of the People’s Party of Canada. He founded the People’s Party of Canada in 2018 after serving as the Conservative MP for Beauce for 12 years. During his time in Parliament, Maxime held the portfolios of Minister of Industry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Small Business & Tourism.

Maxime has been the only major Federal Party leader speaking out against covid restrictions since their implementations in 2020. He joined the “End the Lockdowns” caucus in 2020 and recently joined the Board of Advisors for “Taking Back our Freedoms,”; a national organization dedicated to ending all covid mandates and restrictions.

In the 2021 election, Maxime led the PPC to a 5% popular vote result. Before Maxime’s political career began in 2006, he held positions in several financial institutions, including the National Bank, the Securities Commission of Québec, and Executive Vice-President of the Montreal Economic Institute. Maxime is a loving husband to Catherine and the father of two adult girls.
